Ninedee interview

An interview with Marcus, a.k.a. Mr Nine, from Ninedee about the remix work

What do you think about the track? How does it appeal to you?
- I really like the track! It has kind of an grand orchestral vibe and I think that it differs from other CAS-productions in a very positive way!

Tell us something about the remix process, how you applied the Ninedee concept to the track!
- This time the remix process started in the living room sofa with my acoustic guitar close at hand. I listened to the original mix a lot of times to get a feel of the chord progression. I decided very early to change the chords a bit and also increase the tempo of the song to get more of a 'club vibe'. I really like Kari Bergs vocals during the bridge so I took the liberty to use that part as the chorus.

I also added my own distorted whispers on that part. As you might have noticed the chorus can only be found during the intro (played by the piano) and in the vocoder part during the outro. One difference compared to other Ninedee productions is the acoustic guitars (which I rarely use in my Ninedee productions) in the end. Those melodies was born during the sofa session I talked about earlier and I decided to keep them in the final mix.

The final Ninedee touch I guess was to add the distorted guitars but this time I decided to put them a bit further away in the mix. The production was entirely made in Logic Pro.

This is the second time you remix a Chaos All Stars song, will you be part of all future releases?;)
-Haha. Yeah, it's the second remix. Ninedee and Chaos All Stars go back quite a long time so I wouldn't be surprised if we'll do more collaborations in one way or another.

What are your plans for for the near future? Any releases or so coming up?
- Well, right now I'm doing some changes in my studio setup but after that the plan is to do some digital releases and of course our darling the 'lost cassette'-release. Besides that we are also planning a new video release.
