Psy’Aviah interview

An interview with Yves Schelpe from Psy'Aviah about the remix of "We Are The Sinners"

What do you think about the track? How does it appeal to you?
-I really like how the original track flows, it's built on top of a semi-repeating loop/structure, but offers such a range of variety and doesn't bore. It's not easy to write something like that, I feel. Lyrically, I admire it, can't say a lot about it other than I really value the concept! Last, but not least, love the synergy between the two vocalists, their voices really blend well!

Tell us something about the remix process, how did you bring the dancefloor oriented beat that is the Psy'Aviah trademark to this piece?
-It was a difficult one. I didn't immediately know what to do, so I tried out various tempo switches, to end up with just a four by four loop with the original tempo. I used a lot of sidechaining, sometimes heavier, sometimes not necessary noticeable (I find the for percussion elements SC can be useful too). And thanks for the opportunity for letting us work witht he song!

Are you Sinners?;)
-We all are, one more than the other one. It's how you deal with it afterwards that counts. Broken records cannot be mend, but lessons can be learned. What I really hate about myself is that I can't really say "no" that easily and that I'm rather a really sloppy fox ;) .. However haven't committed any real crimes, yet ;) ...

What are the plans for Psy'Aviah for the near future?
-We're promoting our new album with videos, concerts, and also some special semi-acoustic concerts in some FNAC-stores. Next, it's remixing around the clock, and also shaping some new ideas for a future record/release.
